These are common causes of construction injuries

If you work in the construction industry in New York, you realize that you could be involved in a serious accident at any point. Unfortunately, this also means that you could suffer an injury that changes your life forever.

Some types of construction accidents are more common than others. Of course, this doesn't change the fact that each type of accident has the potential for causing injury.

Here are some of the most common causes of construction injuries:

-- Slip and fall. This is just what it sounds like and can happen for many reasons. As you make your way through a construction site, it's possible that a piece of debris could get in your way, thus causing you to fall to the ground.

-- Falling objects. Construction workers never know when something could fall from above, such as from the roof of a house. If this happens, a head and/or neck injury could occur.

-- Equipment accidents. As you know, construction workers use many types of equipment on a regular basis. This is a great way to get top notch results, but some equipment can cause injuries if used in an inappropriate manner.

These are just a few of the most common causes of construction injuries.

If you're injured in any way at a construction site, don't attempt to move. Instead, call for help and wait for an ambulance to arrive.

Once you are recovering, you should learn more about what happened. You may find that a certain party is responsible for your accident, thus allowing you to file a claim in the hope of receiving compensation.
