New York Car Accident Attorney For Broken Bone Injuries

There are many common types of personal injuries that could be sustained in a motor vehicle accident.  One of the most common types of personal injuries is a broken bone, also known as a fracture.  There are roughly 6 million broken bonesin the United States each year, with accidents such as falls, direct trauma (car accidents), or sports injuries being the leading causes.  Although most people believe that a broken bone can just be casted and in a few weeks it will be all better, our experienced car accident lawyer in New York knows that is not often the case—especially for victims of a high-speed car accident, motorcycle crash, trucking wreck, bicycle collision, or after being hit by a car.  Rather, some individuals may face painful surgeries or medical procedures, including the need for painful hardware like screws, pins, plates, rods, and other metal stabilizers to help the bones set.  Other individuals may never regain full use, range of motion, or stability in the broken bones after a car accident in New York.

If this has happened to you or a loved one, call the O’Connor Law Firm to learn more about how we can help you and your family recover compensation for your personal injuries after a motor vehicle accident.  We handle catastrophic personal injury cases, including those involving broken bones that need surgery such as insertion of painful hardware or joint replacements.  Our compassionate team will help fight to protect your rights to compensation for broken bones after a car accident in New York.  Call to schedule a FREE consultation to learn more about how we can help you recover money for your medical bills, lost wages, conscious pain and suffering, and other damages by dialing (718) 948-3500.

What is a Broken Bone?

A broken bone is when there is a crack, break, fracture, or other similar damage to a bone.  There are two general classifications of broken bones:

  • Closed Fracture – this is when the broken bone is contained within the body
  • Open Fracture or Compound Fracture – this is when the broken bone pierces through the skin

All types of broken bones are serious and require medical attention.  This is particularly true with broken bones to children who may damage growth plates.

  • Comminuted fracture – when the bone shatters into three or more pieces
  • Greenstick fracture – when the bone bends and breaks at one end, but not fully (common in children)
