If you are injured in a slip and fall accident there are several things you should do. First, call for medical help. If possible, take photos of the accident scene, including any dangerous conditions that caused your fall. Many times, accidents are caused by liquid spills or other conditions that are quickly removed, eliminating your ability to obtain evidence of the dangerous condition.

Get names of any witnesses to your accident, including any employees or customers if your slip and fall occurred inside of a store as it will be almost impossible to get this information later.

Make sure you report the accident before you leave the premises. Also, do not sign any reports that are blank. This will ensure the store cannot claim the accident didn’t happen and also put them on notice that they should preserve any video surveillance of the accident, if available.
